Every year, Bornrich do a great list of hardcore presents/gifts for rich people to give to each other and hot damn, I wouldn't mind receiving some of these things! Rage Against The Machine Take Christmas No.1 Slot

THE best news I have heard in AGES!!

"Rock band Rage Against the Machine ended Simon Cowell’s four year domination of the Christmas charts tonight after a hugely popular Facebook campaign helped the Los Angeles nu-metallers snatch the Christmas number one slot from X-factor’s Joe McEdlerry.

More than half a million people downloaded the band’s famously anti-authoritarian and expletive laden track “Killing in the Name” in what was seen as a broad protest against the increasing influence of manufactured pop music.

It is the first time a non-X-Factor song has made it to Christmas number one for four years and represents a major snub to the show’s creator Cowell who angrily described the campaign to him another number one slot as “very Scrooge”. - Source

For the readers not living in the UK, this is huge as the Xmas number one slot is taken very seriously and if you manage to take number one, your pop-musical career usually fares very well the year after...It's amazing to see a grassroots campaign on Facebook with a zero marketing budget able to topple the big TV networks and all their meticulous planning and PR....

What Do You Want For Xmas? Some Dubstep Please.

Ok, so the video and tune are pretty bad, but it is funny and ridiculous!

Pictures on Walls have announced the dates for their annual Christmas event. Wittingly entitled The Fiesta Resistance two things are for sure; a) that it will be a killer art extravaganza with some familiar and un-familiar names contributing;
b) true to form details of the event will be vague until the last possible moment.
For anyone wanting to go the first stumbling block is where the hell is it going to be held? The only thing to do at the minute is to sit tight, keep looking for updates and start looking for a spare credit card.

Part selling exhibition, part art installation - there's probably something for everyone at The Evil Xmas Fayre, presented by Arts Co & Pure Evil over 5th and 6th December at The East Room and Sosho (London EC2) between 12 and 5pm.

Pitched as 'a twisted take on a traditional European Christmas fair', the Evil Xmas Fayre is a selling exhibition of original art and prints. But you'll also find Xmas hell at Sosho, where the walls will be wheat-pasted by an army of Santa’s dark helpers (a mystery line up of London's best street artists), along with the Xmas Squat installation by Luc Price aka Cyclops. If you head next door to The East Room, there's also the chance to make your own snowglobe in the magical Snowglobe Lounge whilst also doing the full 'eat, drink and be merry' thing.

Artist selling at the event will include Aryz, Beatrice Brown, Deadbeat Donny, Does, Ged Wells, Hornhead, Joanna Imrie, Ortiz, Panik, Probs, Pure Evil, Rabodiga and Soozy Lipsey. The Art Car Boot Fair will also host a section of the fayre with all manner of art works, art ware and services from regular art car booters, while other goodies will include 3D jigsaw cut Christmas trees sprayed by a street artists and stockings packed with fayre art. Just a £1 donation (in support of StreetSmart) gets you in.

Streetartist, Stik gets his first solo show in london at the Mile End Arts pavilion, from the 5th to the 20th December.

Black Rat Press: The pop-up antiquarian bookshop is also rumoured to be haunted and is built inside our railway arch gallery.
The bookshop will be filled with an unusual selection of books from major and independent book publishers. A large selection of second hand books and artist made fanzines, counter cultural manuals and films will be available. Artwork by Swoon, Grayson Perry, Giles Walker, Matt Small and Lucas Price will also be on display. Reports have already been received of eerie incidents and strange happenings, with books magically flying off shelves, and lights switching themselves on and off. Halloween may have been and gone but the real ghosts and ghouls work all year round. In addition to this we will be releasing a new edition by Brain Douglas (elbow-toe).

This Thursday the 3rd of December, the 55DSL London’s Flagship Store in Newburgh Street is for the second time home of Pic+Mix, the new series of art exhibitions curated by Intercity for 55DSL, working this time with the Monorex.

The first show featured the work from graphic designer Sanderson Bob who chose to work with blacksmith Sam Sherbone. This Thursday's show will see experimental graffiti artist Chu take over the space and he has chosen to work with fellow artist and illustrator Disco Teck, using the tools of their trade, aerosol vs. marker pen, to give a 360 degree installation that will seriously turn your head!

The show will run at the 55DSL Flagship Store, 10A Newburgh Street, from 4 to 24 December
