Treat Me Like Your Mother by Jonathan Glazer

Treat Me Like Your Mother by Jonathan Glazer

A really cool music video for a pretty good rock tune. Once again director, Jonathan Glazer smashes it.

Bazzier Studio

I'm feeling the metal tee designs from the young designer/illustrator hailing from Indonesia, Bazzier Studio...He's only 24 and has already designed merch and clothing for many bands like As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada & Asking Alexandria, and has his own apparel line, Troll Clothing.

GodMachine Dark Mystical Metal Art

‘Godmachine Lives in South Wales, Uk with his wife, two cats and his beard. Inspired in his youth by skatebording and comics and being self taught, Godmachine has managed to carve a space for himself and make a huge impact on the merch world...and soon everywhere else..’ he has worked with so many great bands and festivals on their artwork and has really carved a decent living out of dark art. I love what he's doing and am definitely planning on getting on of his prints!

Lyrics & Type Show Prints

I had a chance to meet and greet curator, Timba Smits (WoodenToy Magazine) last week and find out what's popping in Melbourne. While he made me a great list of things to do, I had a chance to examine the prints that he had on offer and I have to say that for the price of 49squid, you can land yourself a very pretty print indeed....(naturally, the two shown below really floated my boat)

What did you do this weekend?

Went for a paint on Friday. Assome horror:

Had way too much to drink at Mango's then for a skate on Saturday down at Stockwell:

luckily my favourite band of all time were playing that very evening and I had 2 tickets:

Me and Selph, my friend Adam and his girlfriend Dani held it down till obnoxiously late. Adam fell off my skateboard and then we went home...

Sunday....work, boring and hungover a lot (big up Tizer, I'd still be there had you not).

Monday: Fell asleep waiting for my ladyfriend to get her crooked wizdom teeth taken out by students.......

Good times, mad props to everyone I hung out with especially Adam & Dani, J, the bald guy at the gig with the terror face and 18 hole Doc Martins, Eyehategod for making it into the country for the first time in I think 10 years, Tizer for helping me out on Sunday, and the lovely Steph for providing substantial amounts of horror today to finish off the perfect extended weekend.

Thinking about it actually all the rest is just gonna kind of suck from now on.

Paul Booth Dark & Evil Tattoos

Paul Booth is now, thanks to Jerome Tcherneyan's info, one of my fave dark tattoo artists of the 21st Century. Just look at his evil evil portraits of monsters, freaks, horror & beauty!

After devoting nearly twenty years of his life to the art of tattoo, where he is revered for his efforts to elevate the medium into the realm of fine art, Paul Booth has become a household name. His unparalleled dedication to the evolution of his craft has garnered him numerous awards around the globe, top tier magazine features (among them, many cover stories), public and television appearances including CNN, MSNBC, DISCOVERY, A&E, TLC, MTV and more.

Through his deep involvement in organizations such as The National Arts Club – one of the oldest and most respected art institutions in the Nation – Booth is continually driven to help push the tattoo industry forward in as many ways as possible. In 2000, he created an international art movement called “The ArtFusion Experiment” with Filip and Titine Leu, world-renowned tattooists from Switzerland.

Booth’s masterful paintings and macabre tattoo art is notable for its aggressive nature, and, as such, has been in high demand among dark art and tattoo enthusiasts for decades, including numerous major bands in the metal scene such as Slayer, Slipknot, Pantera, Down, Lamb of god and many more.

Booth has recently stepped into the arena of film. His directorial debut, the award–winning feature documentary The ArtFusion Experiment, continues to extend the reach and success of the movement he created. As a director and lifelong horror fan, he finds film to be an exciting and fresh form of expression.

Rage Against The Machine Take Christmas No.1 Slot

THE best news I have heard in AGES!!

"Rock band Rage Against the Machine ended Simon Cowell’s four year domination of the Christmas charts tonight after a hugely popular Facebook campaign helped the Los Angeles nu-metallers snatch the Christmas number one slot from X-factor’s Joe McEdlerry.

More than half a million people downloaded the band’s famously anti-authoritarian and expletive laden track “Killing in the Name” in what was seen as a broad protest against the increasing influence of manufactured pop music.

It is the first time a non-X-Factor song has made it to Christmas number one for four years and represents a major snub to the show’s creator Cowell who angrily described the campaign to him another number one slot as “very Scrooge”. - Source

For the readers not living in the UK, this is huge as the Xmas number one slot is taken very seriously and if you manage to take number one, your pop-musical career usually fares very well the year after...It's amazing to see a grassroots campaign on Facebook with a zero marketing budget able to topple the big TV networks and all their meticulous planning and PR....
